Os pombos são aves que vivem com facilidade nas cidades, morando em edificações onde costumam fazer seus ninhos em telhados, forros, caixas de ar condicionado, torres de igrejas e marquises. Causam prejuízos por danificar as estruturas dos prédios.

 

Por serem simpáticos e símbolos da paz, algumas pessoas gostam de alimentá-los com restos de comida, pão, pipocas, que são alimentos inadequados e prejudicam a saúde dos animais, além de viciá-los.

 

Como dificilmente são caçados por outros animais, sua população cresce muito rápido e o aumento de sua quantidade tornou-se um grave problema de saúde, pois, podem causar várias doenças graves que podem levar à morte ou deixar sequela, destacando-se:

  • salmonelose: doença infecciosa provocada por bactérias. A contaminação ao homem ocorre pela ingestão de alimentos contaminados com fezes animais;
  • criptococose: doença provocada por fungos que vivem no solo, em frutas secas e cereais e nas árvores; e isolado nos excrementos de aves, principalmente pombos;
  • histoplasmose: doença provocada por fungos que se proliferam nas fezes de aves e morcegos. A contaminação ao homem ocorre pela inalação dos esporos (células reprodutoras do fungo);
  • ornitose: doença infecciosa provocada por bactérias. A contaminação ao homem ocorre pelo contato com aves portadoras da bactéria ou com seus dejetos;
  • meningite: inflamação das membranas que envolvem o encéfalo e a medula espinhal.

 

É muito importante para nossa saúde controlar a população desses animais na comunidade, fazendo com que eles procurem locais mais adequados para viver, com alimentação correta e longe dos perigos das cidades. Um pombo na cidade vive em média 4 anos, enquanto que em seu ambiente natural pode viver até 15 anos.

As baratas são os tipos de pragas mais comuns, podendo aparecer a qualquer hora em qualquer local.

Conheça algumas curiosidades sobre esses bichos que não são nada bem vindos em qualquer ambiente!

  • Elas surgiram há aproximadamente 400 milhões de anos atrás, tendo sofrido poucas mudanças morfológicas. São tão antigas quanto os dinossauros.
  • Muitas baratas conseguem sobreviver mesmo que seja esmagadas ou até decapitadas.
  • Elas podem resistir até a uma explosão de bomba atômica, pois possuem um limiar de radiação muito mais alto do que os seres humanos.
  • As baratas podem sobreviver nos mais diversos ambientes naturais, não aparecendo somente nas calotas polares, pois o frio intenso é a sua barreira ecológica.
  • Possuem uma incrível capacidade de se multiplicar, e seus ovos sobrevivem mesmo com a morte da mãe. Em 150 dias, a fêmea consegue gerar cerca de 320 filhotes.
  • Podem viver até três dias sem água, pois utilizam a umidade do local, e até dois meses sem comida.
